"My hope is that that person will come forward that can win the presidency that we can all get behind." ~Rick Perry
Although a lot of Republicans see through Rick Perry, especially those from Texas, he’s being touted as the one who’ll beat Obama.
Of course the one Republican candidate who speaks for liberty and the Constitution, against the wars on poverty, drugs, and terrorism, tells the truth about social security and the FED and other issues young adults care about, the very people who lean towards the democrats and Obama, that Republican couldn’t possible be attractive to open minded democrats, independents, and young people.
No, that Republican couldn’t beat Obama. The disillusioned ex-Obama supporters couldn’t possibly be attracted to that candidate, who unlike the president (or any of the other candidates for that matter), has shown consistent integrity in all his years in congress.
No, let’s get a pseudo conservative from Texas, who’s anathema to liberals, progressives, thinking conservatives, and most independents. Let’s get the one candidate who looks and sounds like Bush, the very reason Obama won in the first place. Obama’s election was after all a repudiation against Bush and his policies, so let’s get a slicker Bush. That’ll really bring in voters. Let’s get the candidate who’ll scare the daylights outta those lukewarm Obama supporters. Scare ‘em right back into Obama’s camp. Brilliant!
It makes perfect sense, because “anyone is better than Obama.”
Oh really?
Another RINO? Another establishment Republican? Another Scott Brown? Another Republican who’ll increase the debt and size of government? Another Republican who’ll continue the wars on drugs and terrorism? Another Republican who needs the FED despite the rhetoric? Another Republican who’ll increase the police state and the welfare / warfare state? Another Republican who might decrease the acceleration of the train heading for the cliff?
Which Republican president or congress ever cut back on anything?
They don’t have too! The Republicans never hold their leaders accountable. They’re too afraid of loosing, because “anybody is better than (fill in the blank).”
Too many people base their votes on identity politics and not on policy, issues, or philosophy of government. They vote with their friends, family, or favorite media star. Who votes on ideas, issues, or policies?
Some republicans reject Ron Paul because of the types of people who support him. They’re only comfortable around Bible believing, tobacco chewing, boot wearing cowboys. God forbid they’d have any thing to do with Buddha gazing, pot smoking, sandal wearing hippies. The same goes for the sophisticated East Coast / West Coast Liberals who would never deign to associate with Southern Conservatives. They too reject Ron Paul because too many Tea Party types support him, and they are so . . . common.
At the 2008 Republican Convention in Honolulu. The county club Republicans did every thing they could to keep the Ron Paul crowd out. Just who were the Ron Paul supporters? Everyday people: business owners, employees, college students, surfers, city people, country people, locals, mainlanders, every race and class. Ron Paul and the ideas of freedom and liberty bring people together, all kinds of people, including those who never thought about voting republican, so of course he couldn’t possible win.
Oh NO! Ron Paul couldn’t possibly attract thoughtful democrats, liberals, or independents who care more about liberty than big government. They do exists. They’re not Republican because they see threats to their liberties from the Republicans too.
They could tip the election away from Obama.
However, Ron Paul cannot win in a Republican primary comprised of unthinking voters who believe whatever Rush, Hannity, or some other “expert” on FOX says about who can win and who cannot win. They won’t vote for him, because “Ron Paul can’t win.” They never read his books or speeches, never listen to real interviews where he is allowed to explain and develop his views. No, they believe what they read or hear about him. They don’t need to read anything by him, and besides, “Ron Paul can’t win.”
Ron Paul is a threat to the establishment: the banks, the government, the media. They must not let his ideas get out. “Ron Paul can’t win” really means “Ron Paul must not win.”
The leadership of both parties pick these vile establishment statists as candidates to keep their party members in line. They do it using fear.
How? Every group is a threat to another group.
Liberals and progressives want to use the State to impose their vision of government on the rest of the country.
Why do liberals and progressives fear and loath the conservatives? For the very same reason: Conservatives want to use the State to impose their vision on the country.

"I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas." ~Dr. Ron Paul
Those who value liberty, however, don’t want to do that. They have no desire to control or rule over others. People should have the freedom and responsibility to live as they chose as long as they don’t initiate violence or fraud against others.
Both parties however pick the most offensive candidate to the opposing side. That unites there own team. Then everyone, Republican or Democrat, votes for their party’s candidates, because “any one would be better than (fill in the blank). So there is no background check and no debate on real issues. The people ignore once again policies and philosophy of government because they fear the opposing candidate winning. They vote out of fear. Thus we continue to get more of the same with the never ending promises of hope and change.
And don’t forget: “Anyone is better than Obama,” and “Ron Paul can’t win.”
